A PENNY

MATTHEW 20: 1-14 tells of a householder that went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard, when he hired them he told each one that he would give them a penny, they agreed and went to his field to work. as he was walking later that day, he saw men standing idle he hired more men for his vineyard but he told these men he would give them what was right for their work, they agreed and went to work. The man went out a third time and hired more men as he did the last time. He went again and hired even more men as the last. In all the man went out five different times and hired five different crews of men to work. All five were hired several hours apart. The first crew was the only ones that he told he would pay a penny to for their work. When they were through for the day, they came to get their wages. The man sat down and paid the last crewmembers that he had hired a penny for their work. The man paid each of the workers a penny. The first people hired started murmuring against the man, saying we worked all of the day, in the heat of the day and you paid these men the same as you paid us.  The man said did you not agree this morning to work for me, did I not agree to pay you a penny? Did I not pay what I promised?  Where is your complaint?
I think sometimes this is how many Christians feel, they have been saved most of their lives and have put in many hours laboring, building The Church, loving the lost, preaching The Gospel.  The person that has been a Christian since they were young may feel that they are more entitled than those they see as "evil".  Some may even wonder why GOD gives them the same forgiveness and love as HE does us! How can GOD forgive the evildoing of murderers or rapists? We see them as some the lowest of the human race, and GOD saves them as HE did us? WHY? HOW? Well, it is because your sin is as vile to HIM as their sin is. What? I have never done anything as evil as they have. Oh, but we have, listen to what The LAW says, We are to have no other GODs before HIM, (none of us can get past that one), The LAW also says, Do not make any graven images, Do not take The LORD GOD's Name in vain,  Remember the Sabbath and keep it Holy, Honor your father and your mother, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness against thy neighbor, Do not covet.
EXODUS 20 1-17 is where you will find THE LAW OF GOD in its entirety
1 JOHN 3:4 says WHOSOEVER COMMITTETH SIN TRANSSGRETH ALSO THE LAW: FOR SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW.
JAMES 2:1O SAYS FOR WHOSOEVER SHALL KEEP THE WHOLE LAW AND YET OFFEND IN ONE POINT, HE IS GUILTY OF ALL. So if you have ever told that little bitty "white lie" ever, you are a sinner, by the LAW of GOD. The LAW makes us all on equal ground.
LUKE 5:32 JESUS SAID: I CAME NOT TO CALL THE RIGHTEOUS, BUT THE SINNER TO REPENTANCE.
ROMANS 3:10 AS IT IS WRITTEN, THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NO NOT ONE.
We are all in need of the same forgiveness. One Savior, One forgiveness.
JESUS kept the entire LAW of GOD, and it is HIS SACRIFICE, which we believe in for our Salvation.  HE alone was able to keep every point of The LAW of GOD to the fullest. The Sacrifice that JESUS made fulfilled even the curse part of The LAW of GOD.  The wages of sin is death, JESUS died that death. Our faith in HIM and HIS Sacrifice is what makes us HOLY, RIGHTEOUS, and children of GOD. We are no longer sinners in need of Salvation, we are clean, washed clean by The Blood of JESUS.
