MISCONCEPTIONS 

If people could get past these misconceptions, we would be set free of the chains that have us bound.

THE LAW OF THE OLD TESTAMENT IS STILL IN EFFECT TODAY, WE HAVE TO KEEP IT

Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

John 15:25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

Romans 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fully 

fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

( Fulfilled:  completed or achieved, carried out or executed)

THE ALTER IS A PLACE TO BRING BURDENS 

(Altar: for making sacrifices or offerings to a deity)

Hebrews 13:10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle. 

Hebrews 13:11-16 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. [12] Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered without the gate. [13] Let us go forth therefore unto Him without the camp, bearing his reproach. [14] For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. [15] By Him, therefore, let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. [16] But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Christians are to offer the sacrifice of Praise because Jesus offered The Sin Offering, Then Ultimate Sacrifice, His Own Body.

1 Corinthians 10:18 Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?

The Jewish Levites were the Temple attendants. 

We are Christians, not Jews. 

1 Corinthians 9:13-14 Do ye not know that they which minister about Holy things live of the things of the temple? And they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? [14] Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.

The Jews performed all of the Altar's sacrifices for Sin, they also ate portions of the offerings that were brought, by the people.

The Preacher of The Gospel is to live by the offerings of The Christian people. 

Matthew 23:19 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?

Jesus is our Altar!!!

THE CHURCH IS A BUILDING

Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock, I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Matthew 18:17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

Acts 2:47 Praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Acts 8:3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

Acts 14:27 And when they were come and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.

THE CHURCH IS US!!! NOT A BUILDING MADE OF STONES!!!

WE ARE LIVELY STONES!!!

1 Peter 2:5,9 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a Spiritual house, an Holy priesthood, to offer up Spiritual Sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. [9] But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an Holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him Who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light:

BECAUSE JESUS DID IT, WE HAVE TO

JESUS WAS BORN, LIVED THE PERFECT LIFE, DIED, WENT INTO HELL, AROSE, THEN ASCENDED INTO HEAVEN, TO FULFILL EVERYTHING, AFTER HIS ASCENSION, EVERYTHING CHANGED!!! JESUS FULFILLED THE LAW, WITH THE PERFECT SACRIFICE!!! HE KEPT EVERY JOT AND TITTLE!!! THERE IS NOW NOTHING ELSE FOR US TO DO, BUT BELIEF IN CHRIST JESUS AND HIS FINISHED WORK!!!

John 19:30 When Jesus, therefore, had received the vinegar, he said, IT IS FINISHED: and He bowed His head, and gave up the Ghost. 

PRAISE YOU O LORD JESUS FOR RECONCILING US BACK TO GOD!!!

Colossians 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled!!!

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law but under Grace.

Galatians 3:11-13 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. [12] And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. [13] Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

WE ARE NOT UNDER THE CURSE, WE ARE FREE INDEED!!!

John 8:36 If the Son, therefore, shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
