One of the most misquoted quotes in The Bible is found in Matthew 7:1 Judge not, lest ye be judged.
Firstly, people use this verse when they are doing something wrong, and that want you to be okay with it.
Secondly, they stop there and do not read the rest of The Scriptures that go along with it.
Let's read the statement as a whole, here is what The Scripture says,
Matthew 7:1-5 Judge not, that ye be not judged. [2] For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. [3] And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? [4] Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? [5] Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
So you see it tells you that to make sure you don't have something just as bad, or worse than their mote, in your own life, or "eye ".
The way people quote Matthew 7:1, Is that The LORD will judge you if you talk to them about their mote, they want to shut you down quickly, so they quote Matthew to you, to make you feel like you're judging them. The LORD will not judge you, they will. The person that you are wanting to help with the mote in his eye is the one that knows how you live, and you will not be able to help them, because of your walk with The LORD. Make sure you are Spiritually able to help them be restored unto The LORD, you can do more harm than good if you are not.
