EXAMINE YOURSELVES

EXAMINE YOURSELVES

So many Christians take these two Holy Scriptures In
1 Corinthians way out of context. When some read these two Scriptures they think that they can do anything that they desire because they are under Grace, this is true, but, and this is very important, after Salvation your desires are supposed to be changed from your old sinful desires to Godly desires. As  Christians, we have The Holy Spirit teaching us the way of Holiness. We can do whatever we desire, but our new desire is to Honor The Holy God.

1 Corinthians 6:12
All Things Are Lawful Unto Me, But All Things Are Not Expedient: All Things Are Lawful For Me, But I Will Not Be Brought Under The Power Of Any.
1 Corinthians 10:23
All Things Are Lawful For Me, But All Things Are Not Expedient: All Things Are Lawful For Me, But All Things Edify Not.

Here are some Scriptures below that explain how we are to be changed from the old self to the new. There are so many more but these should be enough to prove my point. If you have a different belief then you need to examine yourself and see if you are truly in The Faith.
2 Corinthians 13:5
EXAMINE YOURSELVES, Whether Ye Be In The Faith; Prove Your Own Selves. Know Ye Not Your Own Selves, How That Jesus Christ Is In You, Except Ye Be Reprobates?

Galatians 5:1,13
Stand Fast Therefore In The Liberty Wherewith Christ Hath Made Us Free, And Be Not Entangled Again With The Yoke Of Bondage.
[13] For, Brethren, Ye Have Been Called Unto Liberty; Only Use Not Liberty For An Occasion To The Flesh, But By Love Serve One Another.

Galatians 5:19-25
Now The Works Of The Flesh Are Manifest, Which Are These; Adultery, Fornication, Uncleanness, Lasciviousness,  Idolatry, Witchcraft, Hatred, Variance, Emulations, Wrath, Strife, Seditions, Heresies, Envyings, Murders, Drunkenness, Revellings, And Such Like: Of The Which I Tell You Before, As I Have Also Told You In Time Past, That They Which Do Such Things Shall Not Inherit The Kingdom Of God. But The Fruit Of The Spirit Is Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith,  Meekness, Temperance: Against Such There Is No Law. And They That Are Christ's Have Crucified The Flesh With The Affections And Lusts. If We Live In The Spirit, Let Us Also Walk In The Spirit.

Romans 1:26-32
For This Cause God Gave Them Up Unto Vile Affections: For Even Their Women Did Change The Natural Use Into That Which Is Against Nature: And Likewise Also The Men, Leaving The Natural Use Of The Woman, Burned In Their Lust One Toward Another; Men With Men Working That Which Is Unseemly, And Receiving In Themselves That Recompence Of Their Error Which Was Meet. And Even As They Did Not Like To Retain God In Their Knowledge, God Gave Them Over To A Reprobate Mind, To Do Those Things Which Are Not Convenient; Being Filled With All Unrighteousness, Fornication, Wickedness, Covetousness, Maliciousness; Full Of Envy, Murder, Debate, Deceit, Malignity; Whisperers, Backbiters, Haters Of God, Despiteful, Proud, Boasters, Inventors Of Evil Things, Disobedient To Parents, Without Understanding, Covenantbreakers, Without Natural Affection, Implacable, Unmerciful: Who Knowing The Judgment Of God, That They Which Commit Such Things Are Worthy Of Death, Not Only Do The Same, But Have Pleasure In Them That Do Them.

Ephesians 5:11,14-17
And Have No Fellowship With The Unfruitful Works Of Darkness, But Rather Reprove Them.
[14] Wherefore He Saith, Awake Thou That Sleepest, And Arise From The Dead, And Christ Shall Give Thee Light. See Then That Ye Walk Circumspectly, Not As Fools, But As Wise, Redeeming The Time, Because The Days Are Evil. Wherefore Be Ye Not Unwise, But Understanding What The Will Of The Lord Is.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Know Ye Not That The Unrighteous Shall Not Inherit The Kingdom Of God? Be Not Deceived: Neither Fornicators, Nor Idolaters, Nor Adulterers, Nor Effeminate, Nor Abusers Of Themselves With Mankind, Nor Thieves, Nor Covetous, Nor Drunkards, Nor Revilers, Nor Extortioners, Shall Inherit The Kingdom Of God. And Such Were Some Of You: But Ye Are Washed, But Ye Are Sanctified, But Ye Are Justified In The Name Of The Lord Jesus, And By The Spirit Of Our God.

Romans 6:1-23
What Shall We Say Then? Shall We Continue In Sin, That Grace May Abound? God Forbid. How Shall We, That Are Dead To Sin, Live Any Longer Therein? Know Ye Not, That So Many Of Us As Were Baptized Into Jesus Christ Were Baptized Into His Death? Therefore We Are Buried With Him By Baptism Into Death: That Like As Christ Was Raised Up From The Dead By The Glory Of The Father, Even So We Also Should Walk In Newness Of Life. For If We Have Been Planted Together In The Likeness Of His Death, We Shall Be Also In The Likeness Of His Resurrection: Knowing This, That Our Old Man Is Crucified With Him, That The Body Of Sin Might Be Destroyed, That Henceforth We Should Not Serve Sin. For He That Is Dead Is Freed From Sin. Now If We Be Dead With Christ, We Believe That We Shall Also Live With Him: Knowing That Christ Being Raised From The Dead Dieth No More; Death Hath No More Dominion Over Him. For In That He Died, He Died Unto Sin Once: But In That He Liveth, He Liveth Unto God. Likewise Reckon Ye Also Yourselves To Be Dead Indeed Unto Sin, But Alive Unto God Through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Let Not Sin Therefore Reign In Your Mortal Body, That Ye Should Obey It In The Lusts Thereof. Neither Yield Ye Your Members As Instruments Of Unrighteousness Unto Sin: But Yield Yourselves Unto God, As Those That Are Alive From The Dead, And Your Members As Instruments Of Righteousness Unto God. For Sin Shall Not Have Dominion Over You: For Ye Are Not Under The Law, But Under Grace. What Then? Shall We Sin, Because We Are Not Under The Law, But Under Grace? God Forbid. Know Ye Not, That To Whom Ye Yield Yourselves Servants To Obey, His Servants Ye Are To Whom Ye Obey; Whether Of Sin Unto Death, Or Of Obedience Unto Righteousness? But God Be Thanked, That Ye Were The Servants Of Sin, But Ye Have Obeyed From The Heart That Form Of Doctrine Which Was Delivered You. Being Then Made Free From Sin, Ye Became The Servants Of Righteousness. I Speak After The Manner Of Men Because Of The Infirmity Of Your Flesh: For As Ye Have Yielded Your Members Servants To Uncleanness And To Iniquity Unto Iniquity; Even So Now Yield Your Members Servants To Righteousness Unto Holiness. For When Ye Were The Servants Of Sin, Ye Were Free From Righteousness. What Fruit Had Ye Then In Those Things Whereof Ye Are Now Ashamed? For The End Of Those Things Is Death. But Now Being Made Free From Sin, And Become Servants To God, Ye Have Your Fruit Unto Holiness, And The End Everlasting Life. For The Wages Of Sin Is Death; But The Gift Of God Is Eternal Life Through Jesus Christ Our Lord.
