SEALED BY THE EARNEST OF THE SPIRIT
2 Corinthians 1:20-22
For All The Promises Of God In Him Are Yea, And In Him Amen, Unto The Glory Of God By Us. Now He Which Stablisheth Us With You In Christ, And Hath Anointed Us, Is God; Who Hath Also Sealed Us, And Given The Earnest Of The Spirit In Our Hearts.
2 Corinthians 5:1-5
For We Know That If Our Earthly House Of This Tabernacle Were Dissolved, We Have A Building Of God, An House Not Made With Hands, Eternal In The Heavens. For In This, We Groan, Earnestly Desiring To Be Clothed Upon With Our House Which Is From Heaven: If So Be That Being Clothed We Shall Not Be Found Naked. For We That Are In This Tabernacle Do Groan, Being Burdened: Not For That We Would Be Unclothed, But Clothed Upon, That Mortality Might Be Swallowed Up Of Life. Now He That Hath Wrought Us For The Selfsame Thing Is God, Who Also Hath Given Unto Us The Earnest Of The Spirit.
John 6:27-29
Labour Not For The Meat Which Perisheth, But For That Meat Which Endureth Unto Everlasting Life, Which The Son Of Man Shall Give Unto You: For Him Hath God The Father Sealed. Then Said They Unto Him, What Shall We Do, That We Might Work The Works Of God? Jesus Answered And Said Unto Them, This Is The Work Of God, That Ye Believe On Him Whom He Hath Sent.
Ephesians 4:29-30
Let No Corrupt Communication Proceed Out Of Your Mouth, But That Which Is Good To The Use Of Edifying, That It May Minister Grace Unto The Hearers. And Grieve Not The Holy Spirit Of God, Whereby Ye Are Sealed Unto The Day Of Redemption.
Ephesians 1:8-23
Wherein He Hath Abounded Toward Us In All Wisdom And Prudence; Having Made Known Unto Us The Mystery Of His Will, According To His Good Pleasure Which He Hath Purposed In Himself: That In The Dispensation Of The Fulness Of Times He Might Gather Together In One All Things In Christ, Both Which Are In Heaven, And Which Are On Earth; Even In Him: In Whom Also We Have Obtained An Inheritance, Being Predestinated According To The Purpose Of Him Who Worketh All Things After The Counsel Of His Own Will: That We Should Be To The Praise Of His Glory, Who First Trusted In Christ. In Whom Ye Also Trusted, After That Ye Heard The Word Of Truth, The Gospel Of Your Salvation: In Whom Also After That Ye Believed, Ye Were Sealed With That Holy Spirit Of Promise, Which Is The Earnest Of Our Inheritance Until The Redemption Of The Purchased Possession, Unto The Praise Of His Glory. Wherefore I Also, After I Heard Of Your Faith In The Lord Jesus, And Love Unto All The Saints, Cease Not To Give Thanks For You, Making Mention Of You In My Prayers; That The God Of Our Lord Jesus Christ, The Father Of Glory, May Give Unto You The Spirit Of Wisdom And Revelation In The Knowledge Of Him: The Eyes Of Your Understanding Being Enlightened; That Ye May Know What Is The Hope Of His Calling, And What The Riches Of The Glory Of His Inheritance In The Saints,And What Is The Exceeding Greatness Of His Power To Us-ward Who Believe, According To The Working Of His Mighty Power, Which He Wrought In Christ, When He Raised Him From The Dead, And Set Him At His Own Right Hand In The Heavenly Places, Far Above All Principality, And Power, And Might, And Dominion, And Every Name That Is Named, Not Only In This World, But Also In That Which Is To Come: And Hath Put All Things Under His Feet, And Gave Him To Be The Head Over All Things To The Church, Which Is His Body, The Fulness Of Him That Filleth All In All.
In the old days, people would use the word Earnest as an oath for a purposeful or sincere intent. Some would ask, are you earnest about this, which means are you sincere? If you buy something of great expense, you must put down earnest money, showing that you are serious about the purchase. When you put down earnest money, it is guaranteed that somebody will hold the product for you until you take it into your possession forever. The Holy Spirit Is The Earnest That Jesus Christ Gave, Sealing Us Until The Lord Takes Us Into His Personal Possession In Heaven.
