RIGHTEOUSNESS AND TRUE HOLINESS 

1 Peter 1:13-25 

Wherefore Gird Up The Loins Of Your Mind, Be Sober, And Hope To The End For The Grace That Is To Be Brought Unto You At The Revelation Of Jesus Christ; As Obedient Children, Not Fashioning Yourselves According To The Former Lusts In Your Ignorance: But As He Which Hath Called You Is Holy, So Be Ye Holy In All Manner Of Conversation; Because It Is Written, Be Ye Holy; For I Am Holy. And If Ye Call On The Father, Who Without Respect Of Persons Judgeth According To Every Man's Work, Pass The Time Of Your Sojourning Here In Fear: Forasmuch As Ye Know That Ye Were Not Redeemed With Corruptible Things, As Silver And Gold, From Your Vain Conversation Received By Tradition From Your Fathers; But With The Precious Blood Of Christ, As Of A Lamb Without Blemish And Without Spot: Who Verily Was Foreordained Before The Foundation Of The World, But Was Manifest In These Last Times For You, Who By Him Do Believe In God, That Raised Him Up From The Dead, And Gave Him Glory; That Your Faith And Hope Might Be In God. Seeing Ye Have Purified Your Souls In Obeying The Truth Through The Spirit Unto Unfeigned Love Of The Brethren, See That Ye Love One Another With A Pure Heart Fervently: Being Born Again, Not Of Corruptible Seed, But Of Incorruptible, By The Word Of God, Which Liveth And Abideth For Ever. For All Flesh Is As Grass, And All The Glory Of Man As The Flower Of Grass. The Grass Withereth, And The Flower Thereof Falleth Away: But The Word Of The Lord Endureth For Ever. And This Is The Word Which By The Gospel Is Preached Unto You.

Galatians 5:13-25 

For, Brethren, Ye Have Been Called Unto Liberty; Only Use Not Liberty For An Occasion To The Flesh, But By Love Serve One Another. For All The Law Is Fulfilled In One Word, Even In This; Thou Shalt Love Thy Neighbour As Thyself. But If Ye Bite And Devour One Another, Take Heed That Ye Be Not Consumed One Of Another. This I Say Then, Walk In The Spirit, And Ye Shall Not Fulfil The Lust Of The Flesh. For The Flesh Lusteth Against The Spirit, And The Spirit Against The Flesh: And These Are Contrary The One To The Other: So That Ye Cannot Do The Things That Ye Would. But If Ye Be Led Of The Spirit, Ye Are Not Under The Law. Now The Works Of The Flesh Are Manifest, Which Are These; Adultery, Fornication, Uncleanness, Lasciviousness, Idolatry, Witchcraft, Hatred, Variance, Emulations, Wrath, Strife, Seditions, Heresies, Envyings, Murders, Drunkenness, Revellings, And Such Like: Of The Which I Tell You Before, As I Have Also Told You In Time Past, That They Which Do Such Things Shall Not Inherit The Kingdom Of God. But The Fruit Of The Spirit Is Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, Temperance: Against Such There Is No Law. And They That Are Christ's Have Crucified The Flesh With The Affections And Lusts. If We Live In The Spirit, Let Us Also Walk In The Spirit.

Ephesians 5:1-21 

Be Ye Therefore Followers Of God, As Dear Children; And Walk In Love, As Christ Also Hath Loved Us, And Hath Given Himself For Us An Offering And A Sacrifice To God For A Sweetsmelling Savour. But Fornication, And All Uncleanness, Or Covetousness, Let It Not Be Once Named Among You, As Becometh Saints; Neither Filthiness, Nor Foolish Talking, Nor Jesting, Which Are Not Convenient: But Rather Giving Of Thanks. For This Ye Know, That No Whoremonger, Nor Unclean Person, Nor Covetous Man, Who Is An Idolater, Hath Any Inheritance In The Kingdom Of Christ And Of God. Let No Man Deceive You With Vain Words: For Because Of These Things Cometh The Wrath Of God Upon The Children Of Disobedience. Be Not Ye Therefore Partakers With Them. For Ye Were Sometimes Darkness, But Now Are Ye Light In The Lord: Walk As Children Of Light: (For The Fruit Of The Spirit Is In All Goodness And Righteousness And Truth;) Proving What Is Acceptable Unto The Lord. And Have No Fellowship With The Unfruitful Works Of Darkness, But Rather Reprove Them. For It Is A Shame Even To Speak Of Those Things Which Are Done Of Them In Secret.

But All Things That Are Reproved Are Made Manifest By The Light: For Whatsoever Doth Make Manifest Is Light. Wherefore He Saith, Awake Thou That Sleepest, And Arise From The Dead, And Christ Shall Give Thee Light. See Then That Ye Walk Circumspectly, Not As Fools, But As Wise, Redeeming The Time, Because The Days Are Evil. Wherefore Be Ye Not Unwise, But Understanding What The Will Of The Lord Is. And Be Not Drunk With Wine, Wherein Is Excess; But Be Filled With The Spirit; Speaking To Yourselves In Psalms And Hymns And Spiritual Songs, Singing And Making Melody In Your Heart To The Lord; Giving Thanks Always For All Things Unto God And The Father In The Name Of Our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting Yourselves One To Another In The Fear Of God.

2 Corinthians 7:1 

Having Therefore These Promises, Dearly Beloved, Let Us Cleanse Ourselves From All Filthiness Of The Flesh And Spirit, Perfecting Holiness In The Fear Of God.

Romans 8:26-29 

Likewise The Spirit Also Helpeth Our Infirmities: For We Know Not What We Should Pray For As We Ought: But The Spirit Itself Maketh Intercession For Us With Groanings Which Cannot Be Uttered. And He That Searcheth The Hearts Knoweth What Is The Mind Of The Spirit, Because He Maketh Intercession For The Saints According To The Will Of God. And We Know That All Things Work Together For Good To Them That Love God, To Them Who Are The Called According To His Purpose. For Whom He Did Foreknow, He Also Did Predestinate To Be Conformed To The Image Of His Son, That He Might Be The Firstborn Among Many Brethren.

Ephesians 4:17-24 

This I Say Therefore, And Testify In The Lord, That Ye Henceforth Walk Not As Other Gentiles Walk, In The Vanity Of Their Mind, Having The Understanding Darkened, Being Alienated From The Life Of God Through The Ignorance That Is In Them, Because Of The Blindness Of Their Heart: Who Being Past Feeling Have Given Themselves Over Unto Lasciviousness, To Work All Uncleanness With Greediness. But Ye Have Not So Learned Christ; If So Be That Ye Have Heard Him, And Have Been Taught By Him, As The Truth Is In Jesus: That Ye Put Off Concerning The Former Conversation The Old Man, Which Is Corrupt According To The Deceitful Lusts; And Be Renewed In The Spirit Of Your Mind; And That Ye Put On The New Man, Which After God Is Created In RIGHTEOUSNESS AND TRUE HOLINESS.

Some Christians seem to believe that because they are Saved, and under Grace, they can do anything that pleases them, assuming they don't have to worry about the wrath of God. After Salvation, we can do what pleases us, but our pleasure and delight should be in God, in His Son, and in His Word.

God Is Holy, and only after Salvation do we receive knowledge of pleases God because we receive The Holy Spirit. After Salvation, we become Children Of God, and He starts making us, molding us into the image of Jesus Christ. As Children Of God, we are supposed to be changed from who we were before Salvation. It is only after Salvation we can begin to understand what Jesus Christ Went Through to Sanctify us. Only after Salvation do we sincerely desire to yield ourselves to The Holy Spirit for leadership and guidance. If you say you are a Born-Again Christian and have no desire to be changed into a new creature, or you have no desire for God or His Word, then you need to examine yourself and ensure that you are genuinely BORN-AGAIN. I understand that we get busy in this world and go through hardships, but we should never be so busy that we stay the old man of the flesh. We are to put off the old man and his flesh and become new. The Holy Spirit Of God IS Our Lifeline with God; when we ignore The Holy Spirit, we are ignoring God. We can say we love Jesus Christ, but do we humble ourselves to His leadership? Are we willing to put away the things of this world for The Holiness that God requires?
