THEN THERE IS CHARITY

1 Corinthians 12:4-14,18,25-30,13:1-13 

Now There Are Diversities Of Gifts, But The Same Spirit. And There Are Differences Of Administrations, But The Same Lord. And There Are Diversities Of Operations, But It Is The Same God Which Worketh All In All. But The Manifestation Of The Spirit Is Given To Every Man To Profit Withal. For To One Is Given By The Spirit The Word Of Wisdom; To Another The Word Of Knowledge By The Same Spirit; To Another Faith By The Same Spirit; To Another The Gifts Of Healing By The Same Spirit; To Another The Working Of Miracles; To Another Prophecy; To Another Discerning Of Spirits; To Another Divers Kinds Of Tongues; To Another The Interpretation Of Tongues: But All These Worketh That One And The Selfsame Spirit, Dividing To Every Man Severally As He Will. For As The Body Is One, And Hath Many Members, And All The Members Of That One Body, Being Many, Are One Body: So Also Is Christ. For By One Spirit Are We All Baptized Into One Body, Whether We Be Jews Or Gentiles, Whether We Be Bond Or Free; And Have Been All Made To Drink Into One Spirit. For The Body Is Not One Member, But Many. 

[18] But Now Hath God Set The Members Every One Of Them In The Body, As It Hath Pleased Him. 

[25] That There Should Be No Schism In The Body; But That The Members Should Have The Same Care One For Another.

And Whether One Member Suffer, All The Members Suffer With It; Or One Member Be Honoured, All The Members Rejoice With It.

Now Ye Are The Body Of Christ, And Members In Particular. And God Hath Set Some In The Church, First Apostles, Secondarily Prophets, Thirdly Teachers, After That Miracles, Then Gifts Of Healings, Helps, Governments, Diversities Of Tongues. Are All Apostles? Are All Prophets? Are All Teachers? Are All Workers Of Miracles? Have All The Gifts Of Healing? Do All Speak With Tongues? Do All Interpret? Though I Speak With The Tongues Of Men And Of Angels, And Have Not Charity, I Am Become As Sounding Brass, Or A Tinkling Cymbal. And Though I Have The Gift Of Prophecy, And Understand All Mysteries, And All Knowledge; And Though I Have All Faith, So That I Could Remove Mountains, And Have Not Charity, I Am Nothing. And Though I Bestow All My Goods To Feed The Poor, And Though I Give My Body To Be Burned, And Have Not Charity, It Profiteth Me Nothing. Charity Suffereth Long, And Is Kind; Charity Envieth Not; Charity Vaunteth Not Itself, Is Not Puffed Up, Doth Not Behave Itself Unseemly, Seeketh Not Her Own, Is Not Easily Provoked, Thinketh No Evil; Rejoiceth Not In Iniquity, But Rejoiceth In The Truth; Beareth All Things, Believeth All Things, Hopeth All Things, Endureth All Things. Charity Never Faileth: But Whether There Be Prophecies, They Shall Fail; Whether There Be Tongues, They Shall Cease; Whether There Be Knowledge, It Shall Vanish Away. For We Know In Part, And We Prophesy In Part. But When That Which Is Perfect Is Come, Then That Which Is In Part Shall Be Done Away. When I Was A Child, I Spake As A Child, I Understood As A Child, I Thought As A Child: But When I Became A Man, I Put Away Childish Things. For Now We See Through A Glass, Darkly; But Then Face To Face: Now I Know In Part; But Then Shall I Know Even As Also I Am Known. And Now Abideth Faith, Hope, Charity, These Three; But The Greatest Of These Is Charity.

Galatians 5:22-25 

But The Fruit Of The Spirit Is Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, Temperance: Against Such There Is No Law. And They That Are Christ's Have Crucified The Flesh With The Affections And Lusts. If We Live In The Spirit, Let Us Also Walk In The Spirit.

Ephesians 5:1-21 

Be Ye Therefore Followers Of God, As Dear Children; And Walk In Love, As Christ Also Hath Loved Us, And Hath Given Himself For Us An Offering And A Sacrifice To God For A Sweetsmelling Savour. But Fornication, And All Uncleanness, Or Covetousness, Let It Not Be Once Named Among You, As Becometh Saints; Neither Filthiness, Nor Foolish Talking, Nor Jesting, Which Are Not Convenient: But Rather Giving Of Thanks. For This Ye Know, That No Whoremonger, Nor Unclean Person, Nor Covetous Man, Who Is An Idolater, Hath Any Inheritance In The Kingdom Of Christ And Of God. Let No Man Deceive You With Vain Words: For Because Of These Things Cometh The Wrath Of God Upon The Children Of Disobedience. Be Not Ye Therefore Partakers With Them. For Ye Were Sometimes Darkness, But Now Are Ye Light In The Lord: Walk As Children Of Light: (For The Fruit Of The Spirit Is In All Goodness And Righteousness And Truth;) Proving What Is Acceptable Unto The Lord. And Have No Fellowship With The Unfruitful Works Of Darkness, But Rather Reprove Them. For It Is A Shame Even To Speak Of Those Things Which Are Done Of Them In Secret. But All Things That Are Reproved Are Made Manifest By The Light: For Whatsoever Doth Make Manifest Is Light. Wherefore He Saith, Awake Thou That Sleepest, And Arise From The Dead, And Christ Shall Give Thee Light. See Then That Ye Walk Circumspectly, Not As Fools, But As Wise, Redeeming The Time, Because The Days Are Evil. Wherefore Be Ye Not Unwise, But Understanding What The Will Of The Lord Is. And Be Not Drunk With Wine, Wherein Is Excess; But Be Filled With The Spirit; Speaking To Yourselves In Psalms And Hymns And Spiritual Songs, Singing And Making Melody In Your Heart To The Lord; Giving Thanks Always For All Things Unto God And The Father In The Name Of Our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting Yourselves One To Another In The Fear Of God.

There Are Gifts Of The Spirit, There Are Fruits Of The Spirit, THEN THERE IS CHARITY. Charity Is Christ-like,  Not Just Giving,  But Reread What Charity Is, Charity Suffereth Long, And Is Kind; Charity Envieth Not; Charity Vaunteth Not Itself, Is Not Puffed Up, Doth Not Behave Itself Unseemly, Seeketh Not Her Own, Is Not Easily Provoked, Thinketh No Evil; Rejoiceth Not In Iniquity, But Rejoiceth In The Truth; Beareth All Things, Believeth All Things, Hopeth All Things, Endureth All Things. Charity Never Faileth. 

1 Timothy 1:5 

Now The End Of The Commandment Is Charity Out Of A Pure Heart, And Of A Good Conscience, And Of Faith Unfeigned:

2 Timothy 2:19-26, 3:1-7 

Nevertheless The Foundation Of God Standeth Sure, Having This Seal, The Lord Knoweth Them That Are His. And, Let Every One That Nameth The Name Of Christ Depart From Iniquity. But In A Great House There Are Not Only Vessels Of Gold And Of Silver, But Also Of Wood And Of Earth; And Some To Honour, And Some To Dishonour. If A Man Therefore Purge Himself From These, He Shall Be A Vessel Unto Honour, Sanctified, And Meet For The Master's Use, And Prepared Unto Every Good Work. Flee Also Youthful Lusts: But Follow Righteousness, Faith, Charity, Peace, With Them That Call On The Lord Out Of A Pure Heart. But Foolish And Unlearned Questions Avoid, Knowing That They Do Gender Strifes. And The Servant Of The Lord Must Not Strive; But Be Gentle Unto All Men, Apt To Teach, Patient, In Meekness Instructing Those That Oppose Themselves; If God Peradventure Will Give Them Repentance To The Acknowledging Of The Truth; And That They May Recover Themselves Out Of The Snare Of The Devil, Who Are Taken Captive By Him At His Will.

This Know Also, That In The Last Days Perilous Times Shall Come. For Men Shall Be Lovers Of Their Own Selves, Covetous, Boasters, Proud, Blasphemers, Disobedient To Parents, Unthankful, Unholy, Without Natural Affection, Trucebreakers, False Accusers, Incontinent, Fierce, Despisers Of Those That Are Good, Traitors, Heady, Highminded, Lovers Of Pleasures More Than Lovers Of God; Having A Form Of Godliness, But Denying The Power Thereof: From Such Turn Away. For Of This Sort Are They Which Creep Into Houses, And Lead Captive Silly Women Laden With Sins, Led Away With Divers Lusts, Ever Learning, And Never Able To Come To The Knowledge Of The Truth.

2 Peter 3:17-18 

Ye Therefore, Beloved, Seeing Ye Know These Things Before, Beware Lest Ye Also, Being Led Away With The Error Of The Wicked, Fall From Your Own Stedfastness. But Grow In Grace, And In The Knowledge Of Our Lord And Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him Be Glory Both Now And For Ever. Amen.
