HOW MUCH MORE SHALL THE BLOOD OF CHRIST
John 19:28-30
After This, Jesus Knowing That All Things Were Now Accomplished, That The Scripture Might Be Fulfilled, Saith, I Thirst. Now There Was Set A Vessel Full Of Vinegar: And They Filled A Spunge With Vinegar, And Put It Upon Hyssop, And Put It To His Mouth. When Jesus Therefore Had Received The Vinegar, He Said, It Is Finished: And He Bowed His Head, And Gave Up The Ghost.
Hebrews 9:1-20,10:1-23
Then Verily The First Covenant Had Also Ordinances Of Divine Service, And A Worldly Sanctuary. For There Was A Tabernacle Made; The First, Wherein Was The Candlestick, And The Table, And The Shewbread; Which Is Called The Sanctuary. And After The Second Veil, The Tabernacle Which Is Called The Holiest Of All; Which Had The Golden Censer, And The Ark Of The Covenant Overlaid Round About With Gold, Wherein Was The Golden Pot That Had Manna, And Aaron's Rod That Budded, And The Tables Of The Covenant; And Over It The Cherubims Of Glory Shadowing The Mercyseat; Of Which We Cannot Now Speak Particularly. Now When These Things Were Thus Ordained, The Priests Went Always Into The First Tabernacle, Accomplishing The Service Of God. But Into The Second Went The High Priest Alone Once Every Year, Not Without Blood, Which He Offered For Himself, And For The Errors Of The People: The Holy Ghost This Signifying, That The Way Into The Holiest Of All Was Not Yet Made Manifest, While As The First Tabernacle Was Yet Standing: Which Was A Figure For The Time Then Present, In Which Were Offered Both Gifts And Sacrifices, That Could Not Make Him That Did The Service Perfect, As Pertaining To The Conscience; Which Stood Only In Meats And Drinks, And Divers Washings, And Carnal Ordinances, Imposed On Them Until The Time Of Reformation. But Christ Being Come An High Priest Of Good Things To Come, By A Greater And More Perfect Tabernacle, Not Made With Hands, That Is To Say, Not Of This Building; Neither By The Blood Of Goats And Calves, But By His Own Blood He Entered In Once Into The Holy Place, Having Obtained Eternal Redemption For Us. For If The Blood Of Bulls And Of Goats, And The Ashes Of An Heifer Sprinkling The Unclean, Sanctifieth To The Purifying Of The Flesh:
HOW MUCH MORE SHALL THE BLOOD OF CHRIST, WHO THROUGH THE ETERNAL SPIRIT OFFERED HIMSELF WITHOUT SPOT TO GOD, PURGE YOUR CONSCIENCE FROM DEAD WORKS TO SERVE THE LIVING GOD? AND FOR THIS CAUSE HE IS THE MEDIATOR OF THE NEW TESTAMENT, THAT BY MEANS OF DEATH, FOR THE REDEMPTION OF THE TRANSGRESSIONS THAT WERE UNDER THE FIRST TESTAMENT, THEY WHICH ARE CALLED MIGHT RECEIVE THE PROMISE OF ETERNAL INHERITANCE. For Where A Testament Is, There Must Also Of Necessity Be The Death Of The Testator. For A Testament Is Of Force After Men Are Dead: Otherwise It Is Of No Strength At All While The Testator Liveth. Whereupon Neither The First Testament Was Dedicated Without Blood. For When Moses Had Spoken Every Precept To All The People According To The Law, He Took The Blood Of Calves And Of Goats, With Water, And Scarlet Wool, And Hyssop, And Sprinkled Both The Book, And All The People, Saying, This Is The Blood Of The Testament Which God Hath Enjoined Unto You. For The Law Having A Shadow Of Good Things To Come, And Not The Very Image Of The Things, Can Never With Those Sacrifices Which They Offered Year By Year Continually Make The Comers Thereunto Perfect. For Then Would They Not Have Ceased To Be Offered? Because That The Worshippers Once Purged Should Have Had No More Conscience Of Sins. But In Those Sacrifices There Is A Remembrance Again Made Of Sins Every Year. For It Is Not Possible That The Blood Of Bulls And Of Goats Should Take Away Sins. Wherefore When He Cometh Into The World, He Saith, Sacrifice And Offering Thou Wouldest Not, But A Body Hast Thou Prepared Me: In Burnt Offerings And Sacrifices For Sin Thou Hast Had No Pleasure. Then Said I, Lo, I Come (In The Volume Of The Book It Is Written Of Me,) To Do Thy Will, O God. Above When He Said, Sacrifice And Offering And Burnt Offerings And Offering For Sin Thou Wouldest Not, Neither Hadst Pleasure Therein; Which Are Offered By The Law; Then Said He, Lo, I Come To Do Thy Will, O God. He Taketh Away The First, That He May Establish The Second. BY THE WHICH WILL WE ARE SANCTIFIED THROUGH THE OFFERING OF THE BODY OF JESUS CHRIST ONCE FOR ALL. And Every Priest Standeth Daily Ministering And Offering Oftentimes The Same Sacrifices, Which Can Never Take Away Sins: But This Man, After He Had Offered One Sacrifice For Sins For Ever, Sat Down On The Right Hand Of God; From Henceforth Expecting Till His Enemies Be Made His Footstool. For By One Offering He Hath Perfected For Ever Them That Are Sanctified. Whereof The Holy Ghost Also Is A Witness To Us: For After That He Had Said Before, This Is The Covenant That I Will Make With Them After Those Days, Saith The Lord, I Will Put My Laws Into Their Hearts, And In Their Minds Will I Write Them; And Their Sins And Iniquities Will I Remember No More. Now Where Remission Of These Is, There Is No More Offering For Sin. Having Therefore, Brethren, Boldness To Enter Into The Holiest By The Blood Of Jesus, By A New And Living Way, Which He Hath Consecrated For Us, Through The Veil, That Is To Say, His Flesh; And Having An High Priest Over The House Of God; Let Us Draw Near With A True Heart In Full Assurance Of Faith, Having Our Hearts Sprinkled From An Evil Conscience, And Our Bodies Washed With Pure Water. Let Us Hold Fast The Profession Of Our Faith Without Wavering; (For He Is Faithful That Promised;)
Romans 8:1-17,33-39
There Is Therefore Now No Condemnation To Them Which Are In Christ Jesus, Who Walk Not After The Flesh, But After The Spirit. For The Law Of The Spirit Of Life In Christ Jesus Hath Made Me Free From The Law Of Sin And Death. For What The Law Could Not Do, In That It Was Weak Through The Flesh, God Sending His Own Son In The Likeness Of Sinful Flesh, And For Sin, Condemned Sin In The Flesh: That The Righteousness Of The Law Might Be Fulfilled In Us, Who Walk Not After The Flesh, But After The Spirit. For They That Are After The Flesh Do Mind The Things Of The Flesh; But They That Are After The Spirit The Things Of The Spirit. For To Be Carnally Minded Is Death; But To Be Spiritually Minded Is Life And Peace. Because The Carnal Mind Is Enmity Against God: For It Is Not Subject To The Law Of God, Neither Indeed Can Be. So Then They That Are In The Flesh Cannot Please God. But Ye Are Not In The Flesh, But In The Spirit, If So Be That The Spirit Of God Dwell In You. Now If Any Man Have Not The Spirit Of Christ, He Is None Of His. And If Christ Be In You, The Body Is Dead Because Of Sin; But The Spirit Is Life Because Of Righteousness. But If The Spirit Of Him That Raised Up Jesus From The Dead Dwell In You, He That Raised Up Christ From The Dead Shall Also Quicken Your Mortal Bodies By His Spirit That Dwelleth In You. Therefore, Brethren, We Are Debtors, Not To The Flesh, To Live After The Flesh. For If Ye Live After The Flesh, Ye Shall Die: But If Ye Through The Spirit Do Mortify The Deeds Of The Body, Ye Shall Live. For As Many As Are Led By The Spirit Of God, They Are The Sons Of God. For Ye Have Not Received The Spirit Of Bondage Again To Fear; But Ye Have Received The Spirit Of Adoption, Whereby We Cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit Itself Beareth Witness With Our Spirit, That We Are The Children Of God: And If Children, Then Heirs; Heirs Of God, And Joint-heirs With Christ; If So Be That We Suffer With Him, That We May Be Also Glorified Together.
[33] Who Shall Lay Any Thing To The Charge Of God's Elect? It Is God That Justifieth. Who Is He That Condemneth? It Is Christ That Died, Yea Rather, That Is Risen Again, Who Is Even At The Right Hand Of God, Who Also Maketh Intercession For Us. Who Shall Separate Us From The Love Of Christ? Shall Tribulation, Or Distress, Or Persecution, Or Famine, Or Nakedness, Or Peril, Or Sword? As It Is Written, For Thy Sake We Are Killed All The Day Long; We Are Accounted As Sheep For The Slaughter. Nay, In All These Things We Are More Than Conquerors Through Him That Loved Us. For I Am Persuaded, That Neither Death, Nor Life, Nor Angels, Nor Principalities, Nor Powers, Nor Things Present, Nor Things To Come, Nor Height, Nor Depth, Nor Any Other Creature, Shall Be Able To Separate Us From The Love Of God, Which Is In Christ Jesus Our Lord.
BY THE WHICH WILL WE ARE SANCTIFIED THROUGH THE OFFERING OF THE BODY OF JESUS CHRIST ONCE FOR ALL.
